OVERVIEW
PRP is prepared by taking a small amount of your blood and spinning it so that the platelet-rich portion is separated. This is then applied to the skin during or after micro-needling, or injected in selected areas.
It is discussed for skin texture, dullness, mild scarring and tired-looking skin. It is not a substitute for medical treatment of acne or other skin diseases.

THE PROCESS
How It Works at UK's Derma
Your skin and medical history are reviewed first. After a small blood sample is taken and processed, the face is cleaned and numbed, micro-needling is done and the PRP is applied. Only single-use, sterile kits should be used, and you are welcome to ask about them.
Redness, tightness and mild swelling are common and generally settle within a few days, though this varies. Skin may feel rough for a short time. Improvements are gradual and usually need a series of sessions, and the plan is set at consultation.
